Terrain layer
The Terrain layer shows the elevation of the land surface.
The resolution is 720 meters for California, Texas, New York and Florida.
Starting with Washington/Oregon, we have dramatically increased the resolution
to 180 meters. Older applications will include this improvement in their next release.

Options
Transparency
Determines how much the underlying layer(s) will show through this layer.
Color scheme
- Normal uses the familiar color palette
- Greyscale uses a straight greyscale palette which may be useful in combination with other layers
Shading
If selected, artificial highlights and shadows will be generated to highlight the relief.
Fine-grained
If performance is a problem, you can turn this option off to get a more coarse-grained (but much faster) rendition.
