The Hydrology layer shows rivers and lakes. Intermittent rivers are normally not shown
because of their sheer number. Intermittent lakes are shown, however.

Name
The name of the feature, if known. The names of many smaller streams is often unknown.
Type
The type of the feature, e.g. "Reservoir", "Perennial stream or river", etc...

Determines what types of features will be shown

Origin
This layer uses the data available from the U.S. Census Bureau's TIGER system.
We used the latest available data, which is for 2008.
The data shown is a combination of the Area Hydrography and the line features, filtered for hydrographic features.
