Are you planning or can you consider making USDA NRCS soils data as an available map layer? http://soils.usda.gov/
SSURGO would be best, but STATSGO would OK.

Yes, we're looking at soils as an interesting data source. It didn't make it into the first round of apps because it's kind of a specialized data set, but we're soon going to include exactly this type of information.
